LEÆTHER STRIP
Leæther Strip is a Danish musical project founded in 1988 by Claus Larsen. Its influence has been most felt in the electronic body music and electro-industrial genres. Discovered by the German techno artist and producer Talla 2XLC (Bigod 20), Leæther Strip quickly built a buzz as one of the young acts in Europe in the early 90's. His debut release was in 1990 with "The Pleasure of Penetration". By the time of Leaether Strip's third release, Solitary Confinement, the project had made it's way to the United States.
LEAETHER STRIP's trademark sound features a punishing rhythm, aggressive electronic style, and distorted vocals that he has since become renowned for. Reminiscent of the powerful angst seen in other electro acts of the late 80s and early 90s; such as FRONT 242, SKINNY PUPPY or even NINE INCH NAILS; LEAETHER STRIP rapidly built a reputation over the years and is still is a massive inspiration to many of todays younger acts; and is still one of the most productive artists in the scene.
Leæther Strip last appearance in Atlanta was in 2013 at the much missed Shelter. Join us in welcoming Claus back!
FINITE AUTOMATA
Finite Automata began as a solo project in the summer of 2006 by front-person Mod Eschar (Dom Price). In 2007 Eschar was joined by founding member c. Grendel (Christopher Stanley); inspired by the groundbreaking works of Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly and other electronic acts such as Severed Heads and Project Pitchfork, the duo began to churn out a sonic onslaught of haunting melodies and demented mentally vexing vocals. The pair was joined later that same year by multi-instrumentalist Mat Syn (Mat Porter). The group has had a few lineup changes over the years, with Eschar remaining at the project’s creative core. The group began to become recognized nationally over time after touring extensively with notable acts such as God Module and Dismantled. Over the course of their career, the group has also shared the stage on multiple occasions with Combichrist, Genitorterers, and 3Teeth. The group is currently based out of Atlanta, GA and consists of Eschar (vocals/live sampling/percussion) and Scott Storey (keys). Over the years, Eschar has broadened their artistic palette, and Finite Automata has cemented a place in Atlanta's live industrial music scene.
RECON
RECON started in 1997 as an outlet to do solo work more focused on Rhythmic Noise & Industrial Music. In the beginning most of the work was a personal and private inner release and was not shared but with a few close friends and collaborations. Over the years as anyone that heard RECON, it was always mentioned that it should be shared more and released to the world instead of keeping it locked up. Finally feeling more comfortable to share, RECON has been very active over the last 5+ years and constantly evolving. Though the main sound is more Rhythmic Noise & Industrial focused, RECON loves to go out of comfort zones and cross similarish genres. Collaboration is fun and we are always trying to create a unique and new sound. Anything from mixing and collaborating Darksynth, Dark Ambient, Horror Synth, Industrial Techno, Glitch, IDM, etc. Pushing boundaries and never accepting the norms.
